New Street Sign In Camden Place After Local Councillor’s Campaign

Relief filled the air of Camden Place in the Arboretum ward last week as two brand new street signs were finally installed, marking the culmination of a two-year campaign by local councillor Hannah Cooper.

Residents of Camden Place have long grappled with the challenge of its inconspicuous location, often leading to confusion and frustration for delivery drivers and visitors alike. Back in 2022, Cllr Hannah Cooper first took up the residents' concerns, highlighting the lack of proper signage as a significant hurdle.

"I am absolutely thrilled to see the new street signs finally in place," said Cllr Hannah Cooper, beaming with satisfaction. "For years, residents have endured the inconvenience of deliveries going astray and visitors struggling to find Camden Place. These new signs will make a world of difference, not only for residents but also for delivery people."

Camden Place's unique layout and hidden entrance often left delivery drivers circling the area, frustrated and unable to locate their destination. This, in turn, caused delays and added stress for residents waiting for their deliveries. The new smart sign, strategically positioned at the street entrance, aims to eliminate this confusion and ensure smooth deliveries moving forward.

Cllr Hannah Cooper expressed her gratitude to the city council's street name plate department for their collaboration in getting the sign installed. "I want to thank the city council for addressing this issue," she said. "The new signs look very smart and will add to the placemaking of the Arboretum area"

The installation of the new street sign is seen as a significant step towards improving the lives of residents and businesses in Camden Place. It serves as a testament to the dedication of local representatives like Cllr Hannah Cooper & Cllr Karen Lewing and the positive impact community campaigns can have.
