Hannah Cooper - Arboretum Ward

Hannah Cooper - Arboretum Ward

Councillor Hannah Cooper, has lived in the Arboretum ward since 2015. Her dedication goes beyond simply advocating; she takes concrete action that directly impacts the community.

Residents have benefited from her practical approach, with 70 receiving help accessing home insulation grants, improved road safety measures implemented, and drainage issues tackled. Hannah doesn't shy away from smaller concerns either, ensuring potholes are fixed, pavements repaired, abandoned vehicles removed, and even faded street nameplates repainted.

Her commitment extends beyond infrastructure. Hannah organizes regular litter picks, collects donations for the local foodbank, and actively encourages community gardening initiatives like planting hedges, trees in Lansdowne Park, and bulbs in Harvey Walk. Even something as simple as removing offensive graffiti near the canal demonstrates her dedication to creating a welcoming environment.

Furthermore, Hannah champions accessibility for disabled residents. Her efforts include organizing Deaf Awareness training for museum staff, collaborating to ensure accurate accessibility information for Gheluvelt Park, and addressing accessibility issues at the Guildhall.

Hannah's involvement extends far beyond projects listed here. She actively listens to residents' concerns, ensuring their voices are heard on council committees and advocating for their needs. Her dedication to environmental sustainability and social justice aligns perfectly with Green Party values, making her a true representative for Arboretum.

With her proven track record, strong work ethic, and collaborative spirit working with Karen Lewing & Matt Jenkins, Hannah is committed to building a greener, more inclusive, and thriving Arboretum.
