Sarah Edwards

Sarah Edwards: candidate for St. John’s

I moved to St John’s two years ago with my partner and young son and have found it to be a wonderful place to live, with a strong community, fantastic schools, and great green spaces. I bring a fresh perspective to tackle local issues and improve our area.

I advocate for safer cycling routes and support initiatives like the Bike Bus, helping children cycle to school and so reducing traffic congestion and improving air quality.

I’ll promote litter picks, introduce an “Adopt a Street” scheme, and work to make our streets feel safer for everyone. Similar schemes have been successful in nearby areas, with residents and community groups adopting streets to keep them clean.

I’ll support local volunteers in protecting social spaces like the library and Cripplegate Park. With my background in education and creative arts, I’ll address loneliness, isolation, and anti-social behaviour. I’ll campaign for better crossings on Bromyard Road so children can cross safely.

I will also advocate for lower business rates to support independent shops, revitalizing the centre of St John’s as a vibrant destination. I’m committed to listening to residents, fostering inclusivity, and building a safer, healthier, and happier community for all.
