matthew jenkins: candidate for St. Stephen
Matthew lives in Worcester with his wife Barbara. He has two sons, one at university and the other at sixth form. He has been running his IT business since 2007. He is the county councillor for the St. Stephen division, first elected in 2013. He is the leader of the Green and Independent Alliance group at the council.
Matthew is a trustee of Worcester CAB, a trustee at Duckworth Worcestershire Trust and the secretary of the Worcester Canal Group.
Matthew is keen to continue his work to improve public transport and cycle infrastructure in the county and has called for the return of a park-and-ride system in Worcester.
Matthew believes in giving the local community a far greater say in decisions made by the council, keeping them informed regularly throughout the year. It is only by talking to residents and understanding the issues that concern them that we can reach workable solutions. There is a great opportunity to help local communities work together to improve the area they live in.
