Turn Worcester Green – Mass Team Leafleting Morning 9: 50am Tuesday 19th November
Want to make Worcester a greener and fairer place? You could help us double our Green county councillors at the elections in May 2025. Join us in this week’s mass leafleting 9:50am for a prompt 10am start Tuesday 19th November at our team meeting point 146 Bath Road, WR5 3EP.

Green gig night
An acoustic evening of singer song writers in St. Peter’s to raise funds for Worcester Green Party on Saturday 16 November 7.30PM. The artists are giving their time for free (apart from the odd drink).
Great music, with a smidgen of Green Politics curated by our own Councillor Tor Pingree. We are delighted to announce that the line up includes: Emma Howett, Tyler Massey and our own Tor Pingree
A neat micro pub offering cocktails, real ales, specialist lagers and more. No food provided. We will also run a raffle, prizes to be announced.
Transport is easy, come by bike or bus. You can always sneak next door to the chippy or Chinese takeaway if you haven’t eaten.
Join us for a great night out and help us get more Greens elected. We won both St. Peter’s seats at the last city election and we hope to win the County election in May. This will really help us turn Worcester green.

Green movie evening – 25th November 7pm
Join us for a classic ken Loach film that tackles the issues of immigrants and their reception in local communities.
On Monday 25th November at 7pm, Worcester Green Party will hold a movie evening at Diglis Basin Film Club
It is an opportunity to meet like minded Green Party supporters and enjoy a discussion during the interval where we will be serving refreshments as well as a chance to buy raffle tickets as this is also a fundraiser to support our County Election campaign due in May.
The picture and sound quality will be excellent as this private film club (Diglis Basin Film Club) was set up and is managed by an experienced sound engineer who is also a Green Party supporter.
Tickets for this event are £10 full price or £5 for unwaged supporters.
Please buy tickets in advance.
Please note this is by arrangement with a private cinema club and so we are not allowed to use the film title or promote the film in any public forum or on social media unless it is a closed user group. Doing so could invalidate the club’s license.

Power Up for Change at Worcester Green Party’s Electric Homes for the Future Event!

Worcester Green Party held an electrifying event at GL, a showroom buzzing with the latest in sustainable home appliances. We had 14 attendees charged with possibility.
Fellow Green enthusiasts learnt how to reduce their home’s carbon footprint with energy-efficient products, and got amped about building a brighter future. There were vegan refreshments, an informative tour led by Callum Whittall on GL’s exciting range of products including infrared heating, air source hot water cylinders and EV chargers that lit our spark! Thank you to everyone who came and had the chance to connect and be a positive force for change. Our thanks to Jon Bodenham for organising this event.
International Women’s Day History Walk and Talk
On International Women’s Day, Worcester Green Party hosted a well-attended (40 participants) walk and talk celebrating the inspiring women who shaped Worcester’s past. Leisa Taylor, a feminist and Green Party candidate for Cathedral Ward, led the 2.6km tour. Over the course of 90 minutes, participants explored landmarks associated with these local heroines, gaining insights into their triumphs and struggles. The walk concluded at the Guildhall, with an optional social lunch at the Centenary Lounge for those who wished to continue the conversation. This accessible event provided a unique opportunity to learn about Worcester’s rich history and the remarkable women who played a significant role in it.
BULB PLANTING
Sunday 28th January 10:00-12:00
Cllr Karen Lewing, Cllr Hannah Cooper and Cllr Matt Jenkins were joined by local residents to plant snowdrops and winter aconites on the grass in Harvey Walk. The bulbs were paid for by Karen and Hannah’s ward funding.
Cllr Hannah Cooper said ‘Karen and I got the street name plates installed in Harvey Walk in the Autumn, planting spring bulbs is the next phase in developing the placemaking in this area’.
Cllr Karen Lewing specifically chose bulbs that would benefit the first pollinators of the year.
Barnstorming Launch Event
Thank you to the 90 attendees who came to our barnstorming event at The Granary. We kicked off our launch with a bang with some exceptional guests including Zack Polanski, Shesh Sheshabhatter and Caroline Lucas MP. Music was provided by Icy Moon Explorers with vocals by Tor Pingree. We were delighted to receive so many generous donations of both money and time. Special thanks to our Events Coordinator, Jon for making the whole event possible.
Green living at Pack It In
Join activists, councillors and friends for a re-launch of Pack it in -Zero Waste Living.
Owner Phillipa Gilfillan is hosting an evening that will include:
- Food and drink tasting in her new cafe – a chance to sample vegan food at its best.
- A short practical talk on going plastic free at home and a chance to swap ideas on getting there.
- A brief product demonstration of the more unusual and lesser known zero waste products. (e.g. how do those weird washing eggs work).
Its also a great opportunity to meet new activists and members swap stories on our campaigns and meet and quiz a representative range of our 11 city councillors and 2 county councillors .
Green Social – The Dice Box

Dice, laughs, and green vibes filled the air at the Worcester Green Party’s board game night! With 22 people rolling dice and strategising their way through epic games, the Dice Box board game cafe buzzed with friendly competition and good company.
A huge shout-out to our councillors, members, and friends who joined us for this fun-filled night! We devoured delicious food, soaked in the warm hospitality, and unleashed our inner game masters thanks to the Dice Box’s amazing team and their board game expertise.
This night was such a hit, we’re already planning the next one! ️ At the Worcester Green Party, we’re not just passionate about the environment, we love supporting local businesses like the Dice Box too. See you there next time?
Guided Nature Walk – Warndon
In October 2023, 28 nature enthusiasts in Worcester enjoyed a leisurely guided walk along a section of the Wild About Worcester Way. Led by Paul Snookes, the co-creator the 12 mile trail, the two hour exploration began at St Nicholas Church.
As the group meandered towards Worcester Woods, Paul shed light on the fascinating natural history of the area, bringing the environmental context to life.
The walk provided a wonderful opportunity to connect with fellow nature lovers and learn about Warndon’s green spaces. A delicious reward awaited everyone at the finish point in Worcester Woods- hot soup prepared by Patrick and Jon alongside fresh bread rolls.
Green Pub Night
Join us on Thursday 6th of July from 7pm for a drink and a chat.
We will be at The Wheatsheaf Inn on Henwick Road.
They have great local beer and lots of indoor and outdoor space.
Great British Spring Clean in the Arboretum
The event took place on Sunday 2nd April 2024
Commenting on the event, Hannah Cooper said: ‘We are delighted to lead the Great British Spring Clean Up in the Arboretum. It’s important that we all do our part to keep our city clean and tidy, and this event gives us an opportunity to come together and make a real difference
Cllr Karen Lewing added, ‘As a Green Party councillor, I’m passionate about protecting our environment. By working with the community, we can achieve our goal of cleaner streets and a pleasant environment for everyone’.
Cllr Matt Jenkins commented, ‘The Great British Clean Up is a fantastic initiative, and I’m pleased that Worcester Green Party is leading the way in our city. I look forward to seeing many volunteers help us tidy up our streets.’
The Great British Clean Up is a national campaign supported by Keep Britain Tidy, which encourages residents to take action to improve their local area by removing litter from parks, streets, beaches and the countryside.
International Womens Day
Wednesday, 8th March 2023,
Hannah Cooper led a walk around Worcester looking at the women who have shaped Worcester. Huge thanks to everyone who came out in such surprisingly snowy conditions! We started by being interviewed by BBC Hereford & Worcester. We learnt about greats such as Vesta Tilley, Hannah Snell, Shelia Scott and Mrs Henry Wood to name but a few during the walking tour. The tour ended in the shelter of the Guildhall where Hannah pointed out a dreadful piece of misogyny on display: a scold’s bridle. If elected, Hannah vowed to push for proper curation of the instrument of torture. We were all thankful to warm up and have a delicious lunch at nearby Auntie Em’s Tea Room which was chosen because it’s a woman-owned business and its child-friendly ethos
