Mandy Neill concerned with unsafe children’s play equipment that looked “scruffy and uncared for” decided to take matters into her own hands.
Mandy, a local resident and community campaigner, had helped improve the damaged playground surface on Sabrina Avenue after becoming concerned with safety.
She feared a child could trip over and fall on the uneven playground surface and noticed part of the play equipment was missing.
It led her to take the matter into her own hands and reach out to Worcester City Council for a solution.
She said: “I was concerned that without attention, children could hurt themselves if they fell over.
“One of the pieces of play equipment, a roundabout, had also been missing for a long time due to the damage, and the area looked scruffy and uncared-for.”
Enquiries led to her arranging a meeting with Worcester City Council officers to show them the extent of the problem and to see if it could be resolved.
