A “dangerous” manhole that posed a risk to residents who could fall into it has been fixed.
The manhole on Gregory’s Mill Street and Raglan Street was spotted on Tuesday (February 11) without a cover.
This led councillor Alex Mace to raise concerns about the issue, fearing it could result in pedestrians falling into the hole.
He said: “I saw a post on the local WR3 Residents Info group mentioning the missing cover late on Tuesday evening.
“It was dangerous for residents on foot or using mobility aids that risk falling into the hole, as well as drivers who risk damage to their vehicles.
“I visited first thing on Wednesday morning to take pictures and flag it up to St Stephen County Councillor Matthew Jenkins, who raised it with Worcestershire Highways.”
Within 24 hours of the issue being raised to Worcestershire County Council, the manhole has been repaired.
