Cars attacked and damaged in Arboretum and Claines

SEVERAL cars have been damaged in the city during a spate of overnight attacks.

The incidents have been reported to police following the vandalism in Claines and Arboretum overnight on Friday.

Cllr Karen Lewing, who represents Arboretum, said she was also aware of attacks on cars in Shrubbery Avenue in Worcester and nearby streets as she urged residents to report the damage.

She said: "Unfortunately, we think that at least six cars on Shrubbery Avenue had at least one or both car mirrors smashed last night and there were also cars on Flag Meadow, Kin Crescent and cars keyed on Gregory’s Bank Road that were damaged.

"All residents who have been impacted should please report the damage to the police and also add the cost of repair to the crime report and it will all be collated.

A spokesperson for West Mercia Police said: "We have been made aware of some criminal damage to vehicles in the Claines and Arboretum area which happened overnight on January 26.

"We would like to remind everyone to not leave valuables in your cars and to make sure they are locked.

Please stay vigilant and report any suspicious behaviour through the non emergency number 101 or online at www.westmercia.police.uk

If the offenders are present committing the crime please dial 999. "
