Stephen Dent: Candidate for Claines

Steve Dent

Stephen has lived in Worcester for over 20 years and brought up his children here. He is a retired professional negotiator and the author of an award-winning food blog. He is a trustee of Worcester Environment Group, a regular volunteer at Worcester Community Gardens and he was instrumental in setting up Worcester Food Rescue, which collects food from supermarkets for distribution to local good causes.

He wants to see Worcester City Council taking positive action to address the climate and biodiversity emergencies we face, and doing more to promote walking and cycling. He welcomes the proposed new footbridge linking Gheluvelt Park and Kepax in St Johns, but plenty more needs to be done to encourage safe walking and cycling around our beautiful city. If elected he would look to continue the Green Party’s collaborative approach to local politics, to find the solutions that work best for Worcester’s citizens.
